Carly Ellis grew up in Maryland before relocating to Spokane where she is a BFA student at EWU. While she primarily works in oil paint, she is a lover of mixed media and works in a diverse range of mediums from photography to sculpture. Ellis loves to take on a challenge and is currently working on a large mural locally in Spokane. Her work is centered around the idea of the natural world, family, nostalgia, and loss. She is fascinated with the idea of distortion and the impact it has on memory.
